General Technology Shenyang Machine Tool Sheet Metal Division's chip conveyor workshop welder, Sun Bingyu, has received honors such as Outstanding Employee, Model Worker, and Craftsman from Shenyang Machine Tool.
With over twenty years of experience, Sun Bingyu has always adhered to the work philosophy of "observing more, asking more, and understanding more." He gradually mastered the "secrets" of welding and grew into a "welding master" for the company. His welded products have achieved a 100% pass rate on the first inspection, and he can handle welding tasks for new products with ease.
Mastering such excellent skills undoubtedly requires daily hard work. At work, Sun Bingyu must be "fully armed," wearing a dust mask, welding helmet, protective screen, earplugs, flame-retardant work clothes, heavy anti-crushing shoes, and full leather gloves. He works in a high-temperature environment that most people find unbearable, maintaining unwavering focus and intense concentration. Amidst the flashing arcs and flying sparks, each weld seam emerges like a work of art. The finely detailed "fish scale patterns" on the welded surfaces stand in stark contrast to his soaked work clothes and hands wrinkled with sweat. "Welding is not just manual labor, it requires precision and technical expertise," says Sun Bingyu, encapsulating his deep understanding of the spirit of craftsmanship.
Sun Bingyu not only emphasizes efficiency but also places great importance on quality. He constantly monitors issues affecting product quality and processing efficiency, proposing effective solutions and forming lean improvement suggestions. In 2023, Sun Bingyu made 56 rational improvement suggestions. One notable suggestion was to use laser welding machines for welding the exposed seams of large chip conveyors, addressing the issue of appearance quality caused by manual gas shielded welding. Sun Bingyu also actively takes the lead in mentorship, regularly conducting welding skills training and sharing his welding techniques with employees to enhance the overall welding level of the workshop. Over the past year, he conducted 7 skill training sessions, with a total of 83 participants.
Sun Bingyu thoroughly enjoys the process of welding products to their "ultimate perfection" in his hands. His quality goal is not 99.99% but 100%. Despite the small welding space, numerous full welds, high difficulty, and issues like water and oil leakage in functional components, he always finds solutions to achieve near-perfect products. It is precisely this tenacity and perseverance that allow Sun Bingyu to shine the most beautiful welding sparks in his ordinary position.
